This exhibition features handmade paper and collage expressing a personal
reaction to travels, study and events in 2001-2003.

Adolf Dehn: Works from the Permanent Collection

This is the first of several exhibitions showcasing the university's new
collection of works on paper by noted American artist Adolf Dehn. The
artist's wife Virginia Dehn of Santa Fe, New Mexico, donated this
collection to the RU Foundation. The Adolf Dehn gift consists of 240
prints and 41 original drawings and paintings dating from 1912 to 1967.
This is an extensive collection that shows the wide range of Dehn's
subject matter from landscapes to his signature satires. A catalog of the
collection will accompany the exhibition.

The best works of graduating students in the Bachelor of Fine Arts and
Master of Fine Arts programs decorate the walls of the Flossie Martin
Gallery during this biannual exhibit. Works may also be displayed in the
Art Department Gallery at the Bondurant Center in downtown Radford.
Paul Frets: A Retrospective

This retrospective of paintings, prints, drawings, and sculptures by
artist and RU Professor Emeritus Paul Frets spans his entire career from a
high school student to the present. |

The Japanese Juxtaposition: Contemporary and
Traditional Prints and Textiles

This exhibition features samples of woven and dyed textiles with the
stencils used in their production. Japanese prints and paper from the
1850s to 2003 encompass the breadth and beauty of Japanese textiles,
papermaking and printmaking.
24-30>CHICAGO

Reception: Wednesday, March 24 at 5 p.m.
"24-30>CHICAGO" highlights the stories that surround the production,
exhibition and consumption of art as well as the role these young Chicago
artists play in their community. It will also explore the artist's
relationship within the established gallery system. |
