The Fall 2008 Visual Arts calendar is varied with new artists for you to meet and shows which highlight art from Radford University’s Permanent Collection. This fall you can revisit old friends and see some new exciting pieces during this period of transition for RU’s Art Museum.
Huichol
September 11 - October 1, 2008
Reception: Thursday September 11th, 5 to 7pm
The religious life of the Huichol is reflected in their art. Their technique of pressing yarn designs into wax-coated surfaces can be traced back to the earliest ethnographic records and probably has pre-Columbian origins. A vibrant and colorful show to start our museum season.
